Gill Ferguson is an illustrator and surface pattern designer working from the coastal village of Silverdale, Lancashire. Her work is inspired by the natural world which surrounds her there, the changing colours, patterns and textures are a continual influence. Gills medium of choice is collage, which she creates from textured and patterned papers, made using various media. She enjoys the contrast between cut edges within the collage and the free loose marks of the textured papers. Within her work Gill relishes building a scene, whether it’s a rural landscape, cityscape or historic house and gardens, adding in details from the natural world, figures and anim. Her illustrations have been licensed for greeting cards, sold in galleries and appeared in Uppercase and Contemporary Collage Magazine.
